The University of Essex will be participating in the Education UK exhibition at the East Asia Exhibition Centre in Shanghai on 21/22 October, represented by John Oliver who is both a professor of computer science and a qualified accountant.  He can advise on all aspects of the academic courses and facilities, and assess students’ qualifications for admission.

The university is a state one, founded in 1964, and officially ranked number 11 in the U.K. for the quality of its research.  It offers academic English courses, a pre-degree bridging year for high school leavers, 3-year Bachelor degrees, 1-year taught Master’s courses, and PhD by research.  Library, computing and laboratory provision is excellent.

The self-contained campus is at Colchester, the oldest town in Britain, and London is only 50 minutes by train.  Chinese students are guaranteed a single room with free network connection in a University self-catering flat throughout their course.
